Obituary of Elaine R. Richardson

Elaine R. (Long) Richardson, age 87 of Lafayette Hill, PA formerly of Roxborough, died Sunday, April 14, 2024 at VITAS Hospice at Nazareth Hospital in Philadelphia after a short illness at Jefferson Neuroscience. Elaine was born July 2, 1936 in Philadelphia. She was the daughter of the late Mary Long. She was the wife of the late Charles A. Richardson, Jr.  Elaine is survived by daughter: Pamela Drayton (Mark) of Lafayette Hill, PA; 2 grandchildren - Jordan and Matthew; sister-in-law: Alice Zack of Roxborough, Phila; many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Eleanor Richart; sister, Dolores Lyons; brothers-in-law, Leo Richart and John Zack; and nephews Anthony Lyons and Kevin Richart. Elaine was a graduate of St. John the Baptist High School Class of 1954G and attended St. Joseph’s University. She retired from Whitemarsh Township. She was a member of various senior clubs in Conshohocken and Lafayette Hill and the Barren Hill Volunteer Fire Company as well as a volunteer at St. Joseph’s Villa. She loved cheering on her Philadelphia sports teams, cooking and baking, reading mystery books, playing bingo, scrabble, cards and board games.  She also enjoyed traveling especially trips to the shore, New England, Nova Scotia, and Mackinac Island. Elaine will be sorely missed by her devoted family and many friends. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, April 20 at Saint Philip Neri Church, 437 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be Saturday, April 20 from 10-11:00 am at Saint Philip Neri Church. Memorial donations may be made to Indian Creek Foundation, 420 Cowpath Road, Souderton, PA 18964. Funeral arrangements are by the Lownes Family Funeral Home of Lafayette Hill.
